This modern family home began as a builder’s special. The couple who owns it is anything but typical. With their direction I imagined the space as a family-friendly artist’s atelier—playful and energetic. I worked with this family previously and knew they loved fierce style and clean lines. With two sets of twins at home (yes, four wee ones), furniture and accessories needed to touchable and cleanable as well as stylish. One of my favourite tasks in every project is selecting the artwork. I typically borrow pieces from galleries and create a showing for my clients. For this home I selected photography, oil paintings, graphic art posters and even vintage toys. Seeing the chosen artworks carefully curated and properly mounted is a finishing touch that never gets old.
